Her dancing was most definitely better than his - but she didn't seem to be making anything of it, and she was having fun. That was obviously more important.

"I dunno," he said, grinning at her. "My attention's kinda somewhere else right now. Like trying not to step on your toes. I've heard horse hooves are really not as forgiving as a pair of Vans."

Dancing is dancing. As long a someone is having fun that's what matters.

She laughs, shaking her head. "I don't know what vans are, Ronstadt. And don't worry, I can look out for my own feet."

"It's the name of a brand of shoes. They're lighter than the boots I used to have. ... Well, still have, just can't wear anymore." He'd be lying if he said he didn't miss his Doc Martens.

"Can you believe all of this happened at once? I was drying off after taking a shower and all my feathers started falling out - and it was stripes and fur underneath. Then my legs just gave out and I was in a heap on the bath mat. Not exactly dignified."

The unguligrade legs had been a hell of a shift to go through - his joints had repositioned themselves, and now he had a third long bone somewhere in there. Judging by the pain, one of the existing ones had just snapped and the pieces had grown to suit. It had been a very long, very rough morning in which he'd gone for the rum bottle early, skipping the Mai Tai mix altogether. In some circumstances, day drinking was absolutely allowed.

"I'm honestly amazed at how fast I was able to get up and walk. But doesn't that happen with like, baby horses all the time?"

Her eyebrows shoot up. "Wow, I'm sorry you had such a difficult time! That sounds absolutely awful!" She smiles, tilting her head a little, "But, yes, baby horses and donkeys can get up and walk not long after they're born. You're smart, I'm not surprised you were able to figure it out."

She isn't going to tell him that her transformation had been quick and relatively painless. She's still not entirely sure how or why she'd been spared all the pain she'd heard everyone else had experienced. She just knows she's not going to question it.
